Key takeaways
- Almost nobody prints an enterprise price. Of 12 enterprise vendors Rework checked in October 2026, only Ahrefs ($1,499/mo) and Trakkr (from $1,000/mo) published a figure that includes SSO.
- Published entry plans run roughly $29 to $499 a month. At 1,000+ prompts, vendors like Otterly.AI and Profound switch to custom quotes.
- The only dollar figure for a Profound enterprise contract ($30,000 to $100,000+ a year) is Surmado's own estimate, not a price list. Treat it as a range to test, not a fact.
- Vendors meter different things (prompts, credits, domains, workspaces), so headline prices cannot be compared directly. Convert everything to cost per response.
- Ask about engines, fan-outs, SSO, audit logs, and crawler logs before you ask about price.
Why enterprise pricing is so opaque
I went looking for a clean number: what does a contract cost when you track 1,000 prompts or more? There isn't one. That is the honest answer, and it is a bit irritating.
Rework put it bluntly in its October 2026 review of 12 vendors: "Enterprise" in this category mostly means "we won't print the price." Of the 12, Ahrefs and Trakkr were the only ones publishing an Enterprise figure that includes SSO. Rankscale prints a $780 top tier without SSO, HubSpot AEO is a $50 Beta product, and the other eight send you to a demo.

So this guide does two things. It lays out every number that is actually published, and then it shows you how to build a defensible budget for the part that isn't.
What is actually published (2026)
The Ryze AI roundup from August 2026 collected list prices straight from vendor pricing pages. Here is the compact version, with the Promptwatch prices taken from its own pricing page.
| Vendor | Published monthly prices | Enterprise at 1,000+ prompts |
|---|---|---|
| Otterly.AI | $29 / $189 / $489 (15 / 100 / 400 prompts) | Custom, from $1,000 |
| Peec AI | $95 / $245 / $495 | Custom |
| Profound | $99 and $399, billed annually only (agency pricing) | Custom quote |
| Semrush AI Visibility | $99 per domain | Sales-led |
| AthenaHQ | Free, then $295 | Custom |
| Scrunch | $300 / $500 | Custom |
| Ahrefs Brand Radar | $398 / $699 on its product page, from $199 on the main pricing page | $1,499 listed Enterprise tier per Rework |
| Trakkr | Floor only | From $1,000, billed annually |
| Promptwatch | $95 / $245 / $579 brand plans; $199 / $399 / $799 agency plans | Enterprise, tailored |
Two things jump out. First, the sources disagree. Ahrefs Brand Radar shows up at $398 and $699 on one page and from $199 on another, so check the live page before quoting anyone. Second, Asky's October 2026 summary says paid entry plans run $29 to $295 a month and enterprise contracts are quoted on request. That matches everything else.
Prompt count is the wrong unit
A vendor that advertises "1,000 prompts" is not telling you how much data you are buying. Three things change the real cost.
Engines per prompt
Each AI engine is a separate dataset. Promptwatch Data's average sources per response report shows ChatGPT citing about 5 sources per web-search answer, while Google AI Overviews and Perplexity sit near 10 each. Copilot swung from under 2 to nearly 17 within a few weeks. A tier that covers four engines gives you four times the responses of one that covers a single engine. Otterly.AI, for example, includes four engines on every plan.
Fan-outs
One tracked prompt is not one search. Promptwatch's ChatGPT query fanout data found an average of about 2.15 searches per response in early December 2025, around 1.84 by early March, and exactly 1.0 in April. If a vendor counts fan-out queries instead of prompts, your 1,000 prompts may burn through quota fast or barely register. Ask which one they count.
Frequency, markets, and personas
Daily versus hourly tracking, ten countries versus one, and five personas versus none multiply responses without changing the prompt count. A "1,000 prompt" deal that runs daily in one market is a very different product from one that runs across eight countries.
Turning quotes into cost per response
This is the one calculation worth doing before any vendor call. Take the published tiers and divide.
| Plan | Monthly price | Included volume | Rough cost per 1,000 responses |
|---|---|---|---|
| Promptwatch Essential | $95 | 6,000 responses | about $15.80 |
| Promptwatch Professional | $245 | 18,000 responses | about $13.60 |
| Promptwatch Business | $579 | 42,000 responses | about $13.80 |
| Promptwatch Agency Scale | $799 | 65,000 responses | about $12.30 |
Most vendors do not publish response counts, which is exactly why you should ask for one. If a vendor will not tell you how many responses per month a 1,000-prompt contract includes, you cannot compare it to anything.
As a sanity check, 1,000 prompts tracked daily on a single engine is about 30,000 responses a month. On four engines it is about 120,000. Those numbers are my arithmetic, not a vendor claim, but they show why a $579 plan with 350 prompts and 42,000 responses does not scale linearly into an enterprise deal.
What 1,000+ prompts probably costs
Here is the evidence, ranked by how much I trust it.
- Published floors. Otterly.AI and Trakkr both start Enterprise at $1,000 a month, which is $12,000 a year. That is a floor, not a typical contract.
- A printed top tier. Ahrefs lists $1,499 a month, about $18,000 a year, with an annual commitment, SAML, an audit log, and a DPA.
- A third-party estimate. Surmado's research suggests Profound Enterprise contracts land in the $30,000 to $100,000+ range annually. It says so itself: this is an estimate, and I could not verify it against Profound's own pages. Profound's published numbers are $99 a month for agencies plus $399 per full client workspace, and a free seven-day brand trial.
- Managed services. One marketers' roundup puts fully managed AI visibility services at $1,500 to $2,500 a month, though that bundles human labor, not just software.
My working range for planning: roughly $12,000 to $25,000 a year for a mid-size enterprise deal at the lower end of the market, and $30,000 to $100,000+ for the premium platforms with full security paperwork, custom prompt volumes, and dedicated support. Treat anything below $12,000 for a true 1,000+ prompt, multi-engine, SSO-enabled deal with suspicion, and anything above $100,000 with a spreadsheet.
What the enterprise premium actually buys
At this level you are paying for controls as much as volume. Rework sorted vendors by what a security review blocks on, and that list is a good checklist.
- SSO (SAML or OIDC)
- A SOC 2 Type II report, or ISO/IEC 27001
- An audit log of who changed what
- Contract terms: DPA, invoicing, termination, data residency
- Whether the vendor will still exist in the form you bought
Rework notes that Profound, Conductor, Scrunch, Goodie, and AthenaHQ publish the fullest control sets, and four of them state a SOC 2 Type II report. Ahrefs prints invoicing, SAML, audit log, and DPA but is not yet SOC 2 certified. HubSpot's AEO product is Beta, which stops most procurement teams cold.

Pricing metrics that make comparison hard
One vendor sells prompts, another sells credits (AthenaHQ's 1 credit equals 1 AI response), another sells domains (Semrush at $99 per domain), and Profound's agency model sells workspaces. The ZeroRank breakdown works out that Profound's agency plan costs $498 a month for the base plan plus one full client workspace, because the $99 alone only covers prospecting.

Every one of these is a legitimate pricing model. They are just not interchangeable. Normalize to responses per month, per market, per engine, and the table gets honest quickly.
Where the money leaks
- Overages. I found no vendor that publishes a per-prompt overage rate. Otterly.AI lists +100 prompts at $99 on self-serve, which is the only add-on price I saw. Ask for the enterprise overage rate in writing.
- Annual lock-in. Profound's $99 and $399 prices are annual-only. Trakkr's Enterprise is billed annually. Ahrefs requires an annual commitment. Otterly.AI and Ahrefs both discount for annual billing. A 12-month commitment on a category that changes monthly is real risk.
- Seats. Most published plans include unlimited team members, but check enterprise terms.
- Content and execution. Tracking is one line item. Writing and publishing the content that fixes your gaps is often another contract.
- Crawler and traffic data. Many monitoring tools lack IP-verified crawler logs or AI traffic attribution, so you buy a second tool.
Build versus buy at 1,000+ prompts
Rework's build-or-buy section is worth noting. Search-tool fees from the model providers run about $10 per 1,000 calls for OpenAI web search, $14 per 1,000 for Gemini grounding after 5,000 free a month, and $2.50 per 1,000 for Perplexity's web_search tool, plus tokens. At 15,000 answers a month that is roughly $150, $140, and $37.50 respectively.
That looks tiny next to a $1,000 a month contract. But API answers are not the same as what users see in the real interface, and you would also own scheduling, parsing, brand detection, storage, dashboards, and maintenance. A warehouse and a cron job wins for a data team that wants raw numbers for a few hundred prompts. It rarely wins when marketing needs dashboards, citations, and actions.
Where Promptwatch fits
Promptwatch is one of the few vendors in this group that prints its prices all the way up the ladder, and its volume numbers are published, which makes the cost-per-response math above possible. Beyond monitoring, it includes IP-verified AI crawler logs, visitor analytics, the Content Agent with CMS publishing, and an Action Board, so you are not buying a second and third tool to act on the data. It is ISO/IEC 27001 certified and GDPR compliant. Business is $579 a month; Enterprise is tailored for custom prompt and crawler volume, SSO, audit logs, and a white-label client portal. Confirm current numbers at promptwatch.com/pricing.

A negotiation checklist
Bring these to every vendor call.
- How many responses a month are included at my prompt count, engines, countries, and frequency?
- Do you count prompts, responses, credits, or fan-out queries?
- Which engines are in each tier, and are they collected from real interfaces or from APIs?
- What is the overage rate, in writing?
- Is SSO, an audit log, and SOC 2 Type II or ISO 27001 included, or an add-on?
- Are crawler logs, visitor analytics, and content publishing included?
- What is the exit clause if the annual contract does not deliver?
- Can I run a paid pilot of 60 to 90 days first?
If you would rather have an agency run the evaluation and the program, that is a separate decision. 1001 SEO Media handles GEO engagements and uses Promptwatch as its platform, but you do not need an agency to use the checklist above.
Bottom line
Plan on a custom quote at 1,000+ prompts. Use $12,000 a year as a realistic floor, $18,000 for a printed mid-market anchor like Ahrefs, and $30,000 to $100,000+ for premium platforms, with that top range treated as an unverified estimate. Then get the response count, the engine list, and the overage rate in writing. A cheaper contract that tracks one engine with no crawler data can cost more than a pricier one that does the whole job.
