Key takeaways
- Brandlight is an enterprise AI visibility platform sold as a managed program: a paid pilot, a dedicated strategist, analyst and customer success lead, and no self-serve tier.
- Pricing is not published. G2 lists it as custom and on request, and third-party figures ($199/mo entry, $4K to $25K+/mo enterprise) are unverified.
- G2 shows 4.9/5 from about 253 reviews, with an average of 2 months to implement and 8 months to ROI.
- The weak spots are pricing opacity, no closed-loop revenue attribution, and insights that need internal bandwidth to act on.
- If you want to trial a tool this week, run your own content fixes, or work with a small team, an alternative will probably fit better.
What Brandlight is
Brandlight is an enterprise AI visibility platform. It measures how ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, Grok and other engines mention, rank, and cite a brand, then tries to tell you which sources shape those answers. G2 files it under AI Search Visibility Optimization Tools and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO).
The vendor describes itself as an "enterprise AI visibility platform and managed program." That second half matters. You are not buying a login, you are buying a login plus people. Brandlight says every account gets a dedicated AI strategist, an analyst and a customer success lead, with forward-deployed engineers as an option.
It also says, bluntly, that startups, SMBs and agencies serving small clients are told no on the first call. I like that honesty. It saves everyone a demo.

Features
From G2's feature list and Brandlight's own materials, the product breaks down like this:
- AI mention tracking and AI search ranking insights across engines (reports vary on how many: Brandlight says 13, third-party reviews say 5 to 11).
- Sentiment monitoring and industry sentiment benchmarking.
- Hallucination detection, which flags wrong claims AI makes about you.
- Competitor AI presence comparison and share of voice.
- Source attribution: which publishers and pages influence what AI says about you. Profound's agency roundup calls this the strongest part of the product for earned media targeting.
- Technical health monitoring, including crawl coverage, server-log analysis and blocked domains.
- Semantic optimization and content recommendations, with agentic content drafts routed to your CMS under brand and legal rules.
- Coverage beyond AI search: publishers, social, retailer product pages, AI ads and agentic commerce on one data layer.
- Multi-brand, multi-market management, SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and SSO/RBAC.
One thing Brandlight does differently is the query set. Rather than asking you to type in prompts, it builds an intent-clustered, funnel-tagged set from licensed AI-panel data plus your own search signals, with no prompt caps. Whether that is better than a prompt list you control depends on how much you trust the vendor's panel. Profound, by contrast, lets you edit prompts on its top plan.
The Source Collapse study
Brandlight published a study of about 661,000 unbranded category prompts across seven industries. It found two engines lost more than 80% of their citations in a week while three moved less than 5%. It is a vendor study, so read it as one, but the direction matches what we see elsewhere: citation slots are volatile and contested. Promptwatch's average sources per response data shows ChatGPT cites about 5 sources per web-search answer, while Google AI Overviews and Perplexity cite about 10. With so few slots, small shifts in which pages get picked move visibility a lot.
Pricing
Brandlight does not publish prices. G2 lists pricing as custom and "On Request," with no public tiers and no free trial. G2's summary says cost scales with prompt volume, brand count and team size.
What Brandlight itself says: entry is a paid three-month pilot, then an annual platform and service contract scoped by dashboards, markets and lines of business. It prices the engagement, not the seat.
What third parties guess:
| Source | Figure | Reliability |
|---|---|---|
| LLM Pulse | Entry around $199/mo, enterprise $4K to $15K/mo | Unverified |
| CheckThat.ai | Enterprise $4K to $25K+/mo, activation near $750/mo | Unverified |
| GetAISO | Starter ~$199, Growth ~$400 to $750, Enterprise custom | Reported, not confirmed |
| One G2 reviewer | Up to $750/mo, called steep | Single anecdote |
I would not budget off any of these. The $199 and $750 numbers sit oddly against a vendor that says it only serves enterprises, and the research found no price figure from Brandlight itself. Treat the first sales call as the only real price discovery, and budget a few weeks for it.
What users say
G2 shows 4.9/5 from about 253 reviews, 97% of them five-star. Average implementation is 2 months and average time to ROI is 8 months. A rating that clean deserves a raised eyebrow, since vendor-prompted reviews skew positive, but the written feedback is specific enough to be useful.
What people like
- Visibility into how the brand shows up across answer engines, and clearer content gaps for demand generation teams.
- Dashboards that are easy to read and export.
- Multi-brand, multi-market management for large teams.
- Responsive support from named account staff.
What people criticize
- Pricing opacity. Reviewers could not estimate cost before a sales call.
- Interpretation time. One G2 reviewer says AEO insights take a while to work through across many topics and wants the highest-impact recommendations surfaced first.
- Acting on insights. A VP of marketing operations quoted by CheckThat.ai said internal bandwidth is limited. An SVP of search said it is hard to know what actions will influence AI in your favor.
- Attribution. Brandlight tracks proxies such as share of voice and sentiment. It says openly that it has no closed-loop revenue attribution, and its attribution module was listed as coming soon.
That last point is honest but real. Brandlight says no vendor can credibly promise AI-to-revenue attribution right now. I half agree, but other platforms do connect AI-referred visits and conversions to pages, so it is not an unsolved problem everywhere.
Who Brandlight is really for
G2's read is mid-market and enterprise teams with dedicated marketing, SEO, PR or content staff. Heavy adopters are in software, marketing and advertising, financial services and telecom. Named customers in the research include Volkswagen Group, Caesars Entertainment, LG, Kimberly-Clark, Publicis Groupe, Humana, Aetna and The Hartford.
It fits when:
- You run multiple brands across markets and need governance, SSO and SOC 2.
- You operate in a regulated category where legal review shapes every content change.
- You have the budget and patience for a 30 to 90 day ramp.
- You want people to run the program with you, not just a dashboard.
It does not fit when:
- You want a free trial or self-serve checkout.
- You are a small business or an agency with small clients.
- You need published pricing for procurement comparison.
- You already have a content team and want to run optimization yourself.
Brandlight vs the alternatives
| Platform | Entry price | Model | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brandlight | Custom, paid 3-month pilot | Managed enterprise program | Multi-brand, regulated enterprises |
| Profound | Published tiers from $99/mo, Enterprise custom | Self-serve platform plus agents | Teams that run AI visibility themselves |
| Evertune | $800/mo Pro | Platform with prompt volume index and AI ads | Brands that want real prompt-volume data |
| Scrunch | $250/mo Core | Platform with persona prompt discovery | Teams researching how audiences ask |
| LLM Pulse | From EUR 49/mo | Self-serve, transparent pricing | Mid-market teams and agencies |
| Promptwatch | From $95/mo | Monitor, trace, act and measure in one platform | Teams that want fixes shipped and measured |
A caveat on the pricing column: several of these figures come from competitor-authored roundups, so confirm on each vendor's site.
Profound
Profound is the closest direct competitor. Brandlight argues the difference is who does the work after the dashboard. Profound gives you self-serve tools and agents your team runs. It is also far larger on G2 (1,133 reviews at 4.5/5) and publishes entry pricing. See Profound and the tool card below.

Promptwatch
If your problem is not just seeing where you are invisible but fixing it, Promptwatch is worth a look. It is an end-to-end AI visibility platform: it tracks real ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Overviews and AI Mode interfaces, shows which pages AI cites, logs IP-verified AI crawler hits, and its Content Agent writes and publishes pages to WordPress, Webflow or Framer, then checks whether they got crawled and cited. That answers the "who fixes the five pages" question Brandlight raises, with software instead of a services team. It also publishes its prices: Essential $95/mo, Professional $245/mo, Business $579/mo, with agency plans from $199/mo, and a 7-day free trial (confirm at promptwatch.com/pricing). A head-to-head page exists at Promptwatch vs Brandlight... or more precisely, use Promptwatch vs Profound for the closest enterprise comparison.

LLM Pulse
LLM Pulse covers visibility scoring, sentiment, citations and share of voice with published self-serve pricing and API and MCP access. Note its Brandlight alternatives article is vendor-written. Its screenshot is below.

Others worth a look
Evertune suits brands that want real prompt-volume data and AI ad activation, though it is the priciest entry point in its roundups. Scrunch is useful for persona-based prompt discovery.
For more options, the GEO software directory at bestgeosoftware.com lists dozens of platforms by category.
Questions to ask on the sales call
Brandlight's own FAQ suggests four, and they are good ones for any vendor:
- Who builds and maintains the prompt set, and who owns it when it is wrong?
- Who writes, publishes and pitches the content, step by step?
- What can you attribute to revenue and what can't you?
- Name a customer where this did not work, and what changed.
Add two of mine. What does the contract cost after the pilot, and what happens to your data if you leave? And how many of the 13 engines does it query through the real consumer interface rather than an API? Real UI answers and API answers can differ, and vendors rarely volunteer which one they use.
Verdict
Brandlight is a credible choice for a large, multi-brand, regulated company that wants a vendor to run an AI visibility program with it. The G2 score is strong, the compliance story is solid, and the source attribution angle is useful for PR and earned media teams.
It is a poor choice if you want to evaluate alone, need public pricing, or want measurable revenue attribution today. The honest limitations (no trial, no published price, no closed-loop attribution, insights that need your own bandwidth) are not fatal, but they define who should buy.
For most teams outside the Fortune 500, start with a tool you can trial. Run a focused prompt set for a quarter and compare the trend lines. Platform choice matters less than whether someone owns the work after the dashboard.
