Key takeaways
- Promptwatch is the only one of the three with a public tier sized for 50 prompts: Essential at $95/month, with all engines, API and MCP included.
- Otterly has no 50-prompt plan. Its $29 Lite covers 15 prompts, so 50 prompts pushes you to Standard at $189/month (100 prompts, about $3.78 per prompt if you only use half).
- Profound's public page now shows a free 7-day Trial (50 fixed prompts, 3 engines) and custom-priced Enterprise. You cannot price a 50-prompt brand plan without talking to sales.
- Extra engines matter. Otterly charges for Claude, AI Mode and Gemini add-ons; Profound gates up to nine engines behind Enterprise.
- Pricing here was read from the vendors' own pricing pages. Confirm before buying, since all three change often.
Why 50 prompts is the awkward number
Fifty prompts is a sensible size for a first real AI visibility program. It is enough to cover a handful of topics, a few competitor comparisons and some branded queries. It is also exactly where tier structures start to bite.
Cheap entry plans are built around 10 to 25 prompts. Enterprise plans are built around hundreds or thousands. The middle is where you get surprised by a bill. So instead of comparing headline prices, this guide asks one question of each vendor: what do I actually pay to track 50 prompts, daily, on the engines my buyers use?
One note on scope. This is about vendor pricing, not AI search citation statistics, so there is no citation data here. If you want that side of the picture, the Promptwatch Data hub has the research.

Otterly.AI: cheap at 15, expensive at 50

Otterly has the most readable pricing of the three, and the lowest entry point. That is also what makes it easy to misjudge.
What the tiers look like
- Lite: $29/month ($25 on annual billing), 15 search prompts, 1 workspace, 3 recommendations per week, 1,000 GEO audits per month. No API, MCP or Agent Analytics.
- Standard: $189/month ($160 annual), 100 search prompts, 5,000 GEO URL audits, 2,000 API and 2,000 MCP requests, 200k Agent Analytics events, a Data Studio connector, unlimited workspaces.
- Premium: $489/month, 400 prompts, 10,000 GEO URL audits, 5,000 API and MCP requests, 1M Agent Analytics events.
- Enterprise: custom, starting from 1,000 prompts, with SSO, compliance and a customer success manager.
- Add-on: 100 extra prompts cost $99 on Standard and Premium.
Every tier tracks ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot daily, with unlimited team members, brands, competitors, countries and languages. That last part is genuinely generous.
The 50-prompt problem
There is no 50-prompt tier. Lite stops at 15, so you jump to Standard at $189. If you only use 50 of the 100 included prompts, you are paying roughly $3.78 per prompt, nearly double what the same 50 prompts cost on Promptwatch.
The second catch is engines. Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini are paid add-ons. I could not find add-on prices on the public page, so I cannot tell you what a complete engine set costs. If your buyers use Gemini or AI Mode, ask before you commit.
When Otterly is still the right call
If you genuinely need 15 prompts, Otterly Lite at $29 is the cheapest sensible way to validate that AI visibility tracking is worth doing at all. If you need many countries and languages on a small prompt set, the unlimited-markets policy is also hard to beat. Past that, the math changes.
Profound: enterprise-first, and the 50-prompt number is a trial

Profound is the best-known enterprise name in this space. It has also changed how it sells.
What the public page shows
The brand pricing page now lists two tiers:
- Trial (free): 50 unique prompts run daily for 7 days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. You get a recommended prompt set based on your industry and cannot customize it. One language, one region. No ChatGPT Shopping, no history, no exports, no API, no support. Unlimited seats, 5 Prompt Volumes searches and limited AI Marketer credits.
- Enterprise (custom, sales-led): tailored and editable prompts, daily tracking with all-time history, CSV and JSON export, API, SSO/SAML, SOC 2, ChatGPT Shopping, dedicated Slack or a specialist on a 24-hour SLA, and up to nine engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, AI Overviews and Exa Search).
Profound is also pushing an AI Marketer product where agents run on credits. The self-serve Agency Growth plan includes 400 credits per month per client workspace.
The 50-prompt problem
The 50-prompt figure on Profound is a 7-day trial with a fixed prompt set. It is good for a look at the interface and the quality of the reporting. It is not a plan you can run a program on. For a brand buying directly, a real 50-prompt price does not exist publicly. The FAQ says that when you approach your prompt limit, Profound helps you explore expansion options, with no per-prompt price given.
A warning on stale numbers: several third-party comparison pages still quote $99 or $399 Growth plans for Profound. Those look out of date against the current page. Our own background notes say brand plans were removed in September 2026 and that Agency Growth is $399 per client workspace, but the pricing page I checked does not show that figure, so treat it as unverified.
When Profound is the right call
If you buy through procurement and need SOC 2, SAML SSO, dedicated support and nine engines, Profound is built for you, and a quote conversation is normal in that world. Customer proof points are strong too: Profound cites 2,500+ brands. But if your constraint is a fixed monthly budget for 50 prompts, you will not get a number without a sales call.
Promptwatch: the one that has a 50-prompt tier
Promptwatch is the only one of the three where 50 prompts is a plan, not a trial or a rounding error.

What Essential includes
Essential is $95/month on monthly billing. You get:
- 1 project, 1 seat and 50 prompts
- 6,000 responses per month, which works out to about 120 per prompt per month
- Daily tracking
- All AI models, including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google, Claude, Gemini, Meta AI and DeepSeek
- Agent Chat and country-level tracking
- MCP and API access
- Site audit, 360 Insights and content gap analysis
- A 7-day free trial on monthly billing
Annual billing gives 12 months for the price of 10, about 17% off. Always check promptwatch.com/pricing for the current figure.
Where it gets pricier
The next steps are Professional at $245 (2 projects, 150 prompts, 18,000 responses, content writing and refresh, Knowledge Base, 25M crawler logs) and Business at $579 (5 projects, 350 prompts, state and city tracking, Shopping Insights, Ads Radar, the automated Content Agent). The Business tier is the one that adds local targeting and the hands-off content publishing.
This is the honest tradeoff. Essential gives you measurement and analysis. The heavier action features, like the Content Agent, live higher up the ladder. If you only want a tracker, you are paying for more than you need. If you want to go from gap to published fix, expect to climb.
Why the comparison favors it at 50 prompts
Two reasons, both about structure rather than marketing. First, no engine costs extra at any tier, so the headline price is the real price. Second, API and MCP are in from the first plan, where Otterly holds them back until $189 and Profound until Enterprise. Promptwatch also collects data by scraping the actual interfaces of the LLMs, which matters because user-facing answers can differ from API outputs.
Cost per prompt and per response
A fair way to compare is cost per data point. These figures come from the Promptwatch 2026 comparison and the vendors' pages, with estimates marked.
| Plan | Price/mo | Prompts | Responses | Models | $/prompt | $/response |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Promptwatch Essential | $95 | 50 | 6,000 | All active models | $1.90 | $0.016 |
| Otterly Lite | $29 | 15 | ~1,800 est. | 4 | $1.93 | ~$0.016 |
| Otterly Standard (50 used) | $189 | 100 included | n/a | 4 + paid add-ons | $3.78 at 50 | n/a |
| Profound Agency Growth (unverified) | $99 | 50 | 1,500 | Trial: 3 engines | $1.98 | $0.066 |
Otterly Lite looks as efficient as Promptwatch per prompt, but only because it is so small. The moment you need more than 15, the unit economics reset. Treat the Profound row with caution, since that plan is not visible on the page I checked.
Features that change the decision
API and MCP access
If you want to pipe data into your own dashboards or an AI agent, this is a gating question. Promptwatch includes API and MCP from Essential. Otterly includes them from Standard ($189). Profound gives API access on Enterprise only, and none on Trial.
Agents and content
Profound is leaning hard into agents. Its AI Marketer monitors visibility, citations and sentiment and proposes ranked projects, with a person approving the work. Otterly has no built-in agent. It offers recommendations, content briefs and crawlability checks, with content generation in a separate GEO Content Creator. Promptwatch has Agent Chat on Essential, and its Content Agent and Action Board for larger tiers.
Crawler analytics
All three look at AI crawler traffic. Profound does it through CDN integrations, Otterly through Agent Analytics on Standard and above, and Promptwatch through IP-verified crawler logs, which spoofed bots are filtered out of. If you want to know why a page is or is not cited, this data matters more than another mentions chart.
Compliance
Profound lists SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA and SAML/OIDC SSO. Otterly lists no public SOC 2 or HIPAA and reserves SSO for Enterprise. Promptwatch is ISO/IEC 27001 certified and GDPR compliant, with SSO on Enterprise. Security reviews can decide this on their own.
Which should you pick?
You need exactly 50 prompts and a fixed monthly cost
Promptwatch Essential. It is the only public 50-prompt tier of the three, and nothing is held back on engines.
You need 15 prompts or fewer, and want the cheapest possible start
Otterly Lite at $29, or $25 annually. Just do not plan to grow on it.
You are an enterprise with procurement requirements
Profound. Use the free Trial to evaluate the interface, then expect a quote. Budget for the conversation rather than a price tag.
You might grow past 100 prompts
Compare Otterly Standard ($189, 100 prompts, add-ons at $99 per 100) against Promptwatch Professional ($245, 150 prompts, plus content tools). The gap narrows quickly once you count what each includes.
Questions to ask before you pay
- Which engines are included at this price, and which cost extra?
- Are prompts fixed or editable?
- How many responses per prompt per month do I actually get?
- Is API and MCP access included, or gated?
- What happens to the price at prompt number 51?
If you want to browse beyond these three, the GEO software directory at bestgeosoftware.com lists more trackers, and the Promptwatch 2026 platform comparison covers 22 tools side by side. That comparison is published by Promptwatch, so read it with that in mind.

The bottom line
At 50 prompts, the three tools sit in three different places. Otterly is priced for 15 and jumps to $189. Profound is priced for enterprise and gives you a week-long trial. Promptwatch has a $95 plan sized to the job. Pricing pages move, so verify each one before you commit.
