Key takeaways
- Entry-tier cost per tracked prompt across the 12 tools below runs from about $0.78 to more than $6.90 per month. A cheap sticker price often hides a very expensive prompt.
- The numbers are not comparable until you normalise for cadence (hourly, daily, every 48 hours, weekly), models per prompt, and countries.
- Mid-market plans cluster between roughly $99 and $400 a month. Under $100 gets you 15 to 50 prompts on most tools.
- Almost every price list we found comes from a competing vendor who ranks itself first. Treat every figure as a claim and confirm it on the vendor's pricing page.
- Tracking is only half the bill. If you also need content, crawler data or traffic attribution, the cheapest tracker is rarely the cheapest stack.
Why per-prompt pricing is harder than it looks
I went into this expecting a tidy table. What I got was twelve vendors that each define "a prompt" differently.
Some charge per prompt per model. Some charge per prompt per country. One prices by AI answers instead of prompts. Another charges double for daily sampling versus weekly. Comparing $29 to $99 without that context is like comparing a monthly gym membership to a day pass.
There is also a measurement reason to care about how often a tool samples. According to Promptwatch Data's report on query fanouts, a single ChatGPT prompt can trigger 3 to 8+ web searches, and the average sat around 1.84 searches per response in early March 2026. Searchable reports about 1.74 underlying searches per response across 6.9 million responses. Either way, one check is one sample of a moving answer. Promptwatch's average sources per response data shows ChatGPT cites about 5 sources per web-search answer, so the set of cited pages can shift between runs. A tool that samples a prompt once every 48 hours gives you a thinner picture than one that samples hourly, even if the monthly price looks the same.
So the honest question is not "what does it cost?" It is "what does it cost per prompt, at the cadence I need, for the models and countries I care about?"
How we calculated cost per prompt
The method is simple. Entry-tier monthly price (no annual discount) divided by the prompts included. I used the figures published by the tools' own comparison pages and reconciled conflicts by favouring the newest source.
A few rules:
- Prices are in USD unless noted. Euro prices are shown in euros.
- Annual billing typically takes about 15 to 20% off (Searchable, Geoptie), so your real number may be lower.
- Where a tool counts prompts per model, I show the per-model figure and say so.
- Rankscale prices by AI answers, not prompts. I use Searchable's assumption of daily sampling to convert.
- Vendor bias is real. Leapd, KIME, Searchable, Geoptie and AIRIX each published a roundup that places their own product first. I did not run live checks on every pricing page, so confirm before buying.

The comparison table
| Tool | Entry plan | Prompts included | Approx. cost per prompt | Cadence / notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Leapd (Alex) | $39/mo | 50 | $0.78 | Every 48 hours |
| Scrunch | $300/mo | 350 | $0.86 | Includes 3 users, 5 page audits |
| Morningscore (Business) | $99/mo | 100 | $0.99 | Lite is $69 for 10 prompts ($6.90 each) |
| Rankscale | $99/mo | up to 4,800 answers | about $1.06 | Assumes daily sampling; hourly possible |
| Searchable | $125/mo | 100 per model | $1.25 per model | Charged per prompt per model |
| Otterly.AI | $29/mo | 15 | $1.93 | Standard: $189 for 100 ($1.89) |
| Profound | $99/mo | 50 | $1.98 | ChatGPT only; Growth is $399 for 100 prompts on 3 platforms |
| KIME | €99/mo | 50 | about €1.98 | 2 AI engines, 5 seats |
| Cairrot | $99/mo | 40 | $2.48 | Enterprise: $299 for 100 |
| Geoptie | $49/mo | 15 | $3.27 | Daily; Professional is $99 for 100 |
| Peec AI | about €89/mo | 25 | about $4.12 | Counts countries; 3 included |
| Semrush AI Toolkit | $99 to $199/mo | 25 to 50 | $3.96 or about $3.98 | Sources conflict; see below |
Twelve rows, but notice how little they have in common beyond the arithmetic.
Tool-by-tool notes
The cheap-per-prompt group
Leapd's Alex is the cheapest on paper at about $0.78 per prompt. Starter is $39 a month for 50 prompts every 48 hours, plus citation tracking, geo-targeting, a 100-page audit and 3 articles. Pro is $149 for 100 prompts, and Advanced is $399 for 400. The catch is cadence: every 48 hours is slower than daily.

Scrunch looks expensive at $300 but works out to roughly $0.86 per prompt because you get 350 of them, plus 3 users and 5 page audits. Growth is $500 for 700 prompts. Other roundups put its range at $250 to $500, so check which tier you are quoted.
Morningscore is the strangest pricing in the list. According to Searchable's October 2026 figures, Lite is $69 for 10 prompts, which is $6.90 each, while Business is $99 for 100 prompts. The same plan names were quoted at $49, $69, $129 and $259 elsewhere. I trust the newer numbers, but that gap alone is a reason to open the pricing page.
Rankscale takes a different approach, selling AI answers instead of prompts: 4,800 answers for $99 and 12,000 for $229 (cheaper on annual billing). Assuming daily sampling, that lands near $1.06 per prompt, and it can sample as often as hourly.
The mid-priced group
Searchable charges $1.25 per prompt per model. Pro is $125 for 100 prompts per model, Scale is $400 for 500 and Enterprise is $999 for 1,250. If you track four models, multiply. Annual billing drops Pro to $100. In its favour, it covers ChatGPT model-only answers, ChatGPT Search, Shopping and fan-out queries.

Otterly.AI is the low-entry option: Lite at $29 for 15 prompts, Standard at $189 for 100, Premium at $489 for 400. The per-prompt cost barely improves as you scale up, which is unusual.

Profound's $99 Starter gives you 50 ChatGPT-only prompts, about $1.98 each. Growth at $399 covers 100 prompts across 3 engines, so cost per prompt per engine is about the same. Credit-based agentic features add another variable.
KIME starts at €99 for 50 prompts across 2 AI engines with 5 seats, and Core is €399 for 200 prompts, 3 engines and 10 seats. The seat count is the real value if you have a team.
Cairrot is $99 for 40 prompts, or about $2.48, and $299 for 100 prompts on the next tier.
The expensive-per-prompt group
Geoptie's Starter at $49 for 15 prompts works out to $3.27 each, though Professional ($99 for 100) drops that under a dollar. The lesson: the entry tier is often a teaser. Geoptie also doesn't publish whether it shows fan-out queries.
Peec AI starts around €89 (about $103) for 25 prompts, three countries and three engines. Pro is about €199 for 100 prompts and 5 countries, and Advanced is about €425 for 350 prompts. Since it counts countries, a multi-market brand pays more.
Semrush is the one where sources disagree. Leapd lists Semrush One Starter at $199 a month for 50 prompts and 5 websites, while its own table says $99. Another roundup gives $99 for 25 prompts, or $3.96 per prompt. Existing Semrush customers may find the add-on convenient, but a standalone buyer should ask for a quote.
Others worth a look
ZipTie ($69, $99 and $159 plans), Nightwatch (AI add-on from $99 for 100 prompts), Xofu ($99 consultant, $499 weekly agency, $999 daily agency), LLMrefs ($79 flat) and AthenaHQ ($95 to $295) all show up in these roundups. Xofu's jump from $499 weekly to $999 daily is the clearest example of cadence driving price.

The hidden multipliers
These are the things that turn a $99 plan into a $400 one.
- Models. Searchable counts per model. Profound's Starter is ChatGPT only. Ask what happens when you add Gemini and Perplexity.
- Countries. Peec counts them. If you sell in five markets, that is five times the work.
- Cadence. Every 48 hours, daily, hourly, weekly. The price spread across these is wide, as Xofu shows.
- Seats and audits. Scrunch and Leapd bundle users, page audits and articles. Those are real value if you need them and wasted money if you don't.
- Annual billing. Roughly 15 to 20% off. Worth it once you are sure.
- Credits. Profound's agentic features and Rankscale's answer-based quotas both use credit-style limits.
What 100 daily prompts actually costs
A useful sanity check comes from Rankability's study of 40 tools: for an agency tracking 100 recurring prompts across ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews every day, several published plans cover that for $97 to $189 a month. Another cost guide puts daily ChatGPT plus AI Overviews tracking of 1,000 keywords at $299 to $399 a month, with weekly updates at $149 to $199. Those ranges roughly match what the table shows. If you quote anything above $400 for 100 prompts, you are paying for something other than tracking.

When tracking alone is not the whole bill
Most of the tools above stop at telling you where you appear. You then pay again for content, for crawler data, and for something that shows whether AI traffic converts. If you will need those, price the stack, not the tracker.
Promptwatch is the end-to-end option here. Essential is $95 a month for 50 prompts and 6,000 responses, with daily tracking, all supported AI models, Agent Chat, Brand Narrative, visitor analytics and site audits included. Professional is $245 for 150 prompts and adds IP-verified AI crawler logs, and Business is $579 for 350 prompts, with the Content Agent, faster-than-daily tracking and ChatGPT Shopping insights. That puts Essential at roughly $1.90 per prompt, in line with Profound and Otterly, but with every model included rather than priced per model. Confirm current figures at promptwatch.com/pricing.

The difference worth paying attention to is the loop: Promptwatch's AI crawler logs show whether bots can read a page, the Content Agents write and publish to fix gaps, and visitor analytics show whether the page then earns traffic. Pure trackers leave those steps to you. If you only need a number on a dashboard, a $39 to $99 tool is fine. If you want the work done, the comparison changes. You can start with the free AI visibility report or the 7-day trial before committing, and the GEO software directory at bestgeosoftware.com lists more options.
If you would rather hand this to people, an agency like 1001 SEO Media runs GEO programmes on Promptwatch so you are not buying and operating the tooling yourself.
How to choose
| Your situation | Look at | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Solo founder, under $50 | Leapd Starter, Otterly Lite, Geoptie Starter | Low entry price, 15 to 50 prompts |
| Small team, 100 prompts, daily | Morningscore Business, Searchable Pro, Geoptie Professional | Around $99 to $125 |
| Agency, many clients | Peec, Scrunch, Otterly Standard | Multi-client structures |
| Need cadence control | Rankscale, Xofu | Hourly or daily options |
| Need tracking plus content and crawler data | Promptwatch | One stack instead of three |
Questions to ask before you pay
- Is a prompt counted per model, per country, or both?
- How often is each prompt sampled, and is that on my tier?
- Are fan-out queries and citations included or an add-on?
- What happens at the prompt limit: hard stop or overage?
- How much cheaper is annual billing, and can I cancel?
Start with the number of prompts you actually need. Most teams track fewer than 100 well-chosen prompts, and a clean 50-prompt set at daily cadence beats 300 vague ones. Then price that exact workload on three tools, using the questions above, and pick the one whose multipliers you can live with.
